This Privacy Policy explains how AutoDuck ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our audio mixing web application and related services (the "Service"). We are committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and all applicable Australian privacy legislation.

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Name, email address, and password (for email sign-up)
  • Google account profile information (name, email, profile photo) if you sign in via Google

Audio Files & Content

  • Vocal tracks and instrumental files you upload for mixing
  • Mixed/exported output files generated by the Service
  • Project names, descriptions, and mixing settings you configure

Usage Data

  • Browser type, operating system, and device information
  • Pages visited, features used, and timestamps
  • IP address and approximate geographic location

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the audio mixing Service
  • Process and store your audio files for mixing and export
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Communicate with you about your account or the Service
  • Improve, personalise, and develop new features
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations under Australian law

4. Audio File Processing & Storage

Your uploaded audio files are stored securely on cloud servers (Amazon Web Services, US region). Files are processed by our FFmpeg-based mixing engine to produce your mixed output. We do not listen to, analyse the content of, or use your audio files for any purpose other than providing the mixing service you request.

You retain full ownership and copyright of all audio files you upload and all mixed output files generated by the Service.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS) for file storage and processing
  • Authentication providers (e.g., Google) when you use social sign-in
  • Law enforcement or regulators if required by Australian law, court order, or to protect rights and safety

All third-party providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside of Australia (including the United States). By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipients handle your personal information in accordance with the APPs, as required by APP 8.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Audio files and project data are retained until you delete them or your account. Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal information and audio files within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal information we hold
  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have breached the APPs

9. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; authentication tokens persist until you sign out.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), hashed passwords (bcrypt), secure cloud storage, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
